We've been running Bluegum Bushcraft Rewild Your Child /Rewild Tribe camps for years now, and are asked all the time by the adults... 'It's all very well teaching the kids how to be at home in the wild, but when is it our turn?'
Wed 17th -Sun 21st October, 2018, that's when!
The Wild Heart ReWild Gathering is a 5 day tribe event in the Budawang Wilderness area, for adults. It's a community gathering where we can all share skills and stories with like minded humans in an awesome environment without walls or screens. You don't need any experience in bushcraft or earth skills; this is the perfect place to start your journey toward being at home in the wild. It's not all serious and earnest; there's singing and drumming and feasting and being silly along with learning fab new skills and meeting great people while living as a tribe under a big sky. Think of it as a small, bespoke festival capped at 150 people.

Where is it?
We'll be camping in a field in wild bush on the NSW South Coast, 4-5 hours south of Sydney. If you google Yadboro Flat Campground you'll get the general vicinity. The nearest towns are Milton and Ulladulla, about an hour away on the dirt road.
We're on the last property before the Budawang Wilderness Area, so it's hopping with roos and wallabies and wombats. Sugar gliders yip into the night, and sometimes glide through the camp. Kookaburras announce the dawn and lyrebirds salute the day. If you're super stealthy you might even catch a glimpse of the shy resident platypi in the gorgeous river.
The property is contained by the stunning cliffs of the Byangee Walls, and bordered by the pristine Clyde River, which runs straight out of the wilderness area and is so clean you can drink it.
Activities will be centred in the main field, and range out from there into the bush and down to the river.
There are three cabins available on a first come first serve basis for those people who need to dip a toe in the water with this whole camping thing!
If you want the cabins you need to organise this directly with Joanne and Gary on 02 44788505.
There is no internet coverage or phone reception, however Gary and Jo's house 1km away has a landline for emergencies. (For those who need to know these things, Milton has a great hospital).

What's the scoop, Betty Boop?
Every morning there are a selection of workshops to choose from, designed to Rewild the body, heart, mind and tribe. These delve into various elements of the Bluegum Bushcraft curriculum and help you connect with your own ancestral wisdom. You choose which workshops you're called to.
Expect lots of physical options exploring things like: natural/ancestral movement and body skills, primitive fire skills (eg bow drill and hand drill), pottery that gets fired in the longhouse fires at night, baskets, eco dying, coal burning, spoon making, hide tanning, stalking and camouflage, drumming and more.
There will also be quieter workshops exploring things like storytelling, tribal social technologies, Rapport Based Relating, 5 Rhythms dance/movement meditation, awareness skills, meditation, bird language, nutrition, and cultural edgewalking.
The Chai Tent runs all day and houses Crafty Corner, so if you need to get your knit on, or discover other fab crafts, or just need a place to chill and chat, this is the comfy zone.
Afternoons are open for practicing newfound skills or revisiting old ones, exploring, climbing mountains, water fights, floating down the river, bird watching, playing games, snoozing, creating, endless cups of tea, chai tent chill time, reading... whatever takes your fancy.
At night we all gather around the fires under the longhouse for a communal feast. If you haven't signed up for the camp dinners, just bring your dinner down. There will be stories and music from the impromptu orchestra that coalesces on the night. So bring your instruments; guitar, banjo, cello, violin, sax, flute, mongolian throat singing, didj, djembe, bongo, maracas, triangle, clap sticks... it doesn't matter if you haven't played for 20 years, it all sounds great when we play together. The last night (Saturday) is a drum party.
There's no alcohol, drugs or internet at this event.

The Chai Tent will be a place to chill and chat, and there are spaces to practice your new skills. At night there's music around the fires and the days start at a respectable hour so we can sleep in, although there will also be dawn meditations for those who are called to greet the sun.
Please get in touch with Jo if you have any questions on [email protected].
We're super excited about the Gathering, and hope to see you out in the wild places.
