Rewild Quest
- a 10 day wilderness tribe immersion
Live The Experience.
Ironically, this copy was written in 2019...
The year is 2032.
A pandemic is decimating 85% of the world's population. In the chaos, a band of would-be survivors gathers for an epic journey into the wilderness, away from the carnage and the contagion, to seed a new community.
You are one of those would-be survivors. But although you have escaped the outbreak, bigger challenges await.
You have only two days to prepare, with your tribe, for the journey into the mountains. Some of your band have survival and bushcraft skills. Others have mental toughness, people skills or simply a hunger to learn. You will have to work together, as a team, to make shelter, find water and source food from the landscape. You have managed to bring a small container with some calories in it, but everything else you must find yourself.
Someone in your tribe has a flint and steel. Another member has a billy or saucepan. You each have managed to bring a cutting tool. You each have a bathing suit (no other clothes) and a small blanket. Everything else, you will need to figure out as you go. Your time in the wilderness is five days and four nights.

Your tribe meets at a pre-arranged rendevous point at the end of a dirt road, on the edge of pristine, trackless wilderness.
On arrival, you are greeted by Lee and Gina. For two days they will help you prepare mentally, physically and emotionally for the journey ahead. On the third morning, carrying your scant possessions, your tribe will head out in silence, seeking sanctuary in the wilderness.
It will be up to the group to find a place for shelter, start a fire for warmth, construct whatever shelter you all decide is best, and find a usable water source. Over the next five days and four nights you will explore what it is to be a tribe, in primitive survival. If you need a bowl you will need to make it. If you need more clothes you will fashion them yourselves from natural materials in the environment.
Twice a day Lee and Gina will convene a village council to help you process the psychological and emotional effects of your time in the wilderness, to mine each situation for wisdom and move through anything that is stuck.

After you return to base camp you have time to ground and integrate your experience before your next adventure, whatever that may be.

THE PROGRAM
The Rewild Quest program starts at 1pm on Sat and finishes at 11am on Mon, 10 days later.
Days one and two are the preparation days. An intensive distillation of survival and thrival principles, together with establishing the framework for our adventure - self-care, group care and safety. By the end of these two days we will be equipped with all the inner and outer tools we need for survival living within a tribe.
On the dawn of day three we will leave on our adventure to find and create a village together in the wilderness. We will build shelter, make fire, find water and food. In the afternoons you'll gather for tribe time; sharing stories, processing and learning from each other's experiences, working on projects, exploring... whatever your tribe decides. You can journey deeply into your own personal adventure within the holding of the village.
On the morning of the seventh day we make our way back from the wilderness to the main camp.
The final two days in camp are for integration, celebration, debriefing and reflecting on our ReWilding experience - harvesting the sweet fruits of our labours, so that we can live fully in the next chapter of our adventures, embodying the power, freedom and passion of the wild life.

PREPARATION
This Quest does not require you to be a survival ninja! All it requires is some physical resilience, the willingness to meet your edges, and an open heart.
There are many programmes out there to help people learn survival tools and make cool things, but these are always in controlled environments and don't teach the necessary skills of resilience, energy conservation, real-time problem solving and stress innoculation. Information is not the same as knowledge or ability. The only way to learn this stuff is to actually do it. You may be able to make a good looking arrowhead in a workshop, when tools are provided, but how do you do in the wilderness, with only sandstone and quartzite for company? And when you haven't eaten for half a day and you spot a delicious freshwater crayfish at the bottom of the river, how do you go about actually catching the sneaky little bugger?
A lot of people think they can't do a programme like this because they have no survival experience. They couldn't be further from the truth.
This IS the experience. This is how you learn it. Only by living it can we turn theory into real knowledge.
You turn up, willing and open and kinda crapping it, ready to meet your edges in the company of your tribe. Between you are all the skills necessary to survive as a group. Some people will have the ability to make fire. Others to build shelter. Some will be great at becoming social glue, others at finding plant or animal food on the landscape. Between you all is the glorious, messy, real dance that is human community, pulling together, solving problems, helping each other, getting triggered and owning your part in it, setting goals and working together towards them.
For us, tribe means looking after each other, no matter what. That's the commitment. That's when magic can happen, and we can transcend ourselves, our fears and our limiting beliefs.
To prepare, we recommend starting to fast; missing a meal or two every few days, building toward fasting for a whole day or two. Cut back on caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes, late nights. Gather your resources for this experience, and begin to pour your attention into your higher calling. What do you really want to get out of this? How deeply can you journey? The more you put into the adventure, the more you receive from it.
You may notice that your life gets more tumultuous leading up to the Quest. This is completely normal. Our experience is that as we commit to Quest, the material ready to be worked starts to move, which can be uncomfortable. That which is preparing to leave starts to be felt. You will have opportunities in the Quest to work with this material :)
Although this is a tribe experience, your Quest is your own. You can take the time move deeply into personal spaces, have solo experiences, and have the support to journey what you find there during the actual Quest and when you return to base camp.
